We have about 450 Japanese books, divided into two collections: 

1. 1. The Book Cart ("the WILD")

   2. Graded Readers ("the PAVED TRAIL")

The Book Cart consists of Japanese children’s literature, manga, novels, and other non-leveled books not specifically written for learners, hence "the WILD." Most were inherited from former instructor Claire Hitosugi, who began the collection in 2000.  

The Graded Reader collection consists of leveled books for Japanese learners, hence "the PAVED TRAIL." We acquired them in 2023 through funding from the Department of EALL. 

Finally, we have a few English Graded Readers we borrow from the HELP Program.
